Features: As the closing concert of NCPA May Festival 2014, the British longest-established chamber orchestra - London Mozart Players and Chinese famous pianist Chen Sa will be performed at Concert Hall of NCPA on May 24th.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Pianist Chen Sa
Described as “one of the brightest performers of her generation” by Classic FM, Chen Sa gave her first major performance in 1996 when, at the age of 16, she was seen live on BBC Television, competing in the final of the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition with Sir Simon Rattle and the City of Birmingham Symphony. The British public were captivated and she has been delighting audiences worldwide since.

In 2010, Chen Sa was awarded the prestigious “Chopin Art Passport” by the Polish Government in recognition of her achievement in Chopin’s music during Chopin bicentennial in 2010. In the same year, she was also awarded China’s Classical Elite Award in both Shanghai and Beijing in the categories of “Top Ten Best Concerts of the Year” and “Best Recital Concert of the Year”. She is a Steinway Artist. As the only female artist, Sa Chen was named one of the top ten featured Chinese artists of 2009 by L’OFFICIEL magazine.

London Mozart Players
The London Mozart Players (LMP) is a British chamber orchestra founded in 1949. The LMP is the longest-established chamber orchestra in the United Kingdom whose performances and recordings focus largely on the core repertoire from the Classical era. Since 1989, the orchestra has been based at Fairfield Halls, Croydon.

The LMP regularly tours outside the UK to places including Japan, the Far East, South America, Spain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and has twice performed to sell-out audiences at the prestigious Salzburg Festival. The orchestra played at the Rheingau Festival in Wiesbaden, Germany in both 2008 and 2009, and returned to Germany for a ten-concert tour in December 2010. The orchestra also returned to Germany in June 2012 for a two-concert tour with pianist/director Howard Shelley, and will visit again in 2013 with Gerard Korsten.
