BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Dmitry Sinkovsky
Virtuoso violinist Dmitry Sinkovsky studied at the Moscow Conservatory, graduating in 2005. Following this, he has since concentrated on historical performance practice. He has since taken many prizes in major competitions, ranging from the Premio Bonporti in Italy (2005) to the Bach Competition in Leipzig (2006), the Musica Antiqua Competition in Bruges (first prize, audience prize and critics' prize - 2008) to the Romanus Weichlein prize at the Biber competition in Austria in 2009 for his 'extraordinary interpretation of the Biber's Rosary sonatas' and first prize at the Telemann Competition in Magdeburg (2011). Critics and public alike praise his ability to 'play from the heart' while interpreting with ease music of dazzling difficulty.

Joyce DiDonato
Winner of the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Solo, Joyce DiDonato entrances audiences and critics alike across the globe, and has been proclaimed "perhaps the most potent female singer of her generation" by The New Yorker. With a voice “nothing less than 24-carat gold” according to the Times, DiDonato has soared to the top of the industry as both a performer and a fierce arts advocate, gaining international prominence in operas by Rossini, Handel and Mozart, as well as through her wide-ranging, acclaimed discography.

Il pomo d'oro Orchestra
Il pomo d'oro is an orchestra founded in the year 2012 with a special focus on opera, but equally committed to instrumental performance in various formations. The musicians united in this group are among the best to be found worldwide for authentic interpretation on period instruments. They form an ensemble of outstanding quality, combining stylistic knowledge, highest technical skills, and artistic enthusiasm. The collaboration with violinist and conductor Riccardo Minasi led to an award winning first recording (Vivaldi, 'Per l'Imperatore'). The second recording, Vivaldi's violin concerts 'Per Pisendel' with Dmitry Sinkovsky as soloist and conductor, received a Diapason d'or. In 2012, il pomo d'oro also recorded 3 solo CDs with three countertenors - Max Emanuel Cencic, Xavier Sabata and Franco Fagioli, under Riccardo Minasi's direction, as well as a recording of Venetian Barcarole, sung by Vincenzo Capezzuto.

Numerous concerts (Toulouse, Paris, Munich, London, St. Petersburg, Geneva, St. Moritz, Kopenhagen, Potsdam, Schwetzingen, Versailles, Beaune, Cologne, Hamburg, among others) are scheduled for 2013. 'il pomo d'oro's first opera recording - Handel's 'Tamerlano' – was completed in April 2013, with Xavier Sabata, Max Emanuel Cencic, John Mark Ainsley and Karina Gauvin in the leading roles, directed by Riccardo Minasi. Tamerlano will be performed in concerts in 2014. 'il pomo d'oro' also recorded a recital of Agrippina Arias by various composers with the Swedish mezzosoprano Ann Hallenberg, directed as well by Riccardo Minasi. In 2014, il pomo d'oro is going to record operas by Vinci and Hasse.
