BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Aida Gomez Dancer
Born in Madrid in 1967, Aida Gomez studied Spanish and classical dance with renowned teachers such as Juana Taft and Pilar de Oro. In 1981, she joined the Spanish National Ballet and four years later became prima ballerina. She began to work with Joaquín Cortés in 1996 and performed on the most important European and American stages. Between 1988 and 2001, she took charge of the Spanish National Ballet, being the youngest director in its history. In 2001 she set up her own company and performed Salomé with stage direction by Carlos Saura. She has collaborated with Bigas Luna in creating choreography for the Spanish Pavilion at the World Expo Exhibition in Shanghai.
