BRIEF INTRODUCTION

LI Bai is a famous Chinese poet, who lived in the flourishing days of the Tang Dynasty. His poems sound graceful and soulful, and he is honoured as “poet god” in later ages and holds an important place in the history of Chinese literature. It is for the first time in China that LI Bai’s life essence is staged into a dance drama. Several fragments of his life will be acted out in the dance drama to disclose his patriotic complex and the favourable or unfavourable turns in his life, revealing how he is unrestrained and how his poems are masterly.

China National Opera & Dance Drama Theatre
China National Opera & Dance Drama Theatre Symphony Orchestra is a national-class orchestra affiliated to China National Opera & Dance Drama Theatre. Established in 1952, it is the first orchestra of the New China.

The Orchestra has given performance in national operas, such as The White-Haired Girl, LIU Hulan, Regret for the Past, The Wilderness and Red River Valley, and national dance dramas, such as Lotus Lantern, Princess Wencheng, Sword, Lady on Tongque Platform, The Mermaid, etc. After helping Red River Valley win the national highest art award Wenhua Award, the Orchestra assisted Mother, an original Pingju drama of China Pingju Theatre, win the highest award at the 15th China Arts Festival Wenhua Award.
