Features: Davy Spillane, world-class Irish songwriter and performer on the uilleann pipes in a celtic-inspired music, song and dance performance. On March 3, celtic connections gala will stage in Forbidden City Concert Hall Beijing.
Davy Spillane will be joined by an outstanding cast of Irish singers and dancers to include Irish folk singer Catherine O'Halloran, Champion Irish dancers Janine Haggart and Jason Jude Donnelly and the locally-based Celtic Connections Choir and Echoes of Erin Dance Troupe. The programme led by Hong Kong-based Irish conductor Canice Gleeson, will highlight the hauntingly beautiful sounds of Davy Spillane's Uillean pipes and low whistles in sweeping orchestral arrangements of contemporary and traditional Gaelic songs and in sets of breathtaking reels.
