BRIEF INTRODUCTION

SYNOPSIS
A long-standing feud between the two leading families in Verona, the city in northern Italy, the Montagues and the Capulets, regularly erupts into violence on the city's streets. However, a masquerade changes everything. Romeo, the sole heir of the Montagues, instantly falls in love with Juliet, the daughter of the Capulets, at his first sight of her. In order to protect their love, they plan to get a priest, Friar Lawrence, to marry them in secret.

A disaster ensues nevertheless, as Romeo is exiled due to his killing of Juliet's cousin in a fight, and Juliet is forced to marry another man. To escape to her lover under the surveillance of her family, Juliet takes the drug prepared by Friar Lawrence which makes her appear dead, hoping to wake up to find Romeo waiting for her. Unfortunately, the message goes astray, and Romeo only hears that his wife is dead. Grief-stricken, he hurries back to Verona, and takes poison to be reunited with his 'late' Juliet in death. Soon afterwards, Juliet awakes to find her lover dead and she stabs herself with Romeo's dagger…
